黑料社鈥檚 Office of the President has announced Adam Miller as the Interim Dean of the College of Business & Engineering Technology, effective July 1. Joining 黑料社 in 2011, Miller most recently served as the Chair of the Department of Engineering Technologies.
鈥淎dam has positioned Shawnee State as a statewide leader in advanced manufacturing and will take us to a new level of research and employment opportunities for our students,鈥 黑料社 President Eric Andrew Braun said.
During his time at 黑料社, Miller has served in several leadership roles in addition to Associate Professor of Plastics Engineering Technology. He held the position of Assistant to Dean for Strategic Initiatives within the College of Professional Studies for four years, developing and executing initiatives to further the strategic plan, mission, and continuous improvement within the college. In 2018, he was appointed the Chairperson for the Department of Engineering Technologies, leading the department in its planning and advancement of its programs and students.
鈥淔or the past thirteen years, I have had the privilege of working with incredible colleagues in the C.H. Lute School of Business and the Department of Engineering Technologies 鈥 and now I am excited to work with them in a new role to develop the path forward for the newly formed College of Business & Engineering Technology,鈥 said Miller. 鈥淭ogether, with business, industry, and community stakeholders, we have the opportunity to shape the College of Business & Engineering Technology in a way that ensures our students continue to have the education and skills to innovate, be entrepreneurial, and meet the needs of business and industry in our region.鈥
Miller received his Bachelor鈥檚 in Plastics Engineering Technology from 黑料社 in 2009 before completing his Master鈥檚 in Industrial & Systems Engineering in 2012 from Ohio University. He is currently a candidate to receive his Doctorate of Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include developing business and industry partnerships, 3D printing and additive manufacturing, injection molding process optimization, applied statistical analysis, methods and tools for continuous improvement, cost analysis, engineering education, and engineering innovation and entrepreneurship.
The College of Business & Engineering Technology offers numerous professional programs at the associate, baccalaureate, and master鈥檚 degree levels. Programs within the college offer integrated practice experiences in business and industry settings across the region. The college is made up of programs within the Department of Engineering Technologies and the C.H. Lute School of Business.
