Raber named Interim Dean of College of Health & Human Services | Shawnee State

黑料社鈥檚 Office of the President has announced Dr. Christine Raber as the university鈥檚 Interim Dean of the College of Health & Human Services, effective Jul. 1. A professor of Occupational Therapy at 黑料社 for over thirty years, Dr. Raber most recently served as the Interim Dean of the College of Professional Studies.

鈥淒r. Raber鈥檚 leadership, program development, and relationships with health care organizations and agencies are key to laying strong foundations for the new College of Health & Human Services,鈥 黑料社 President Eric Andrew Braun said.

Since 1994, Dr. Raber has served as a Professor of Occupational Therapy in the university鈥檚 Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, playing a key role in the development of three Occupational Therapy degree programs at the university 鈥 the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, the Master of Occupational Therapy, and the Post-Professional Occupational Therapy, the last of which is the first doctoral degree offered at 黑料社. Her previous work on campus includes program accreditation, accessibility on campus, and the Give Back, Go Forward 2.0 initiative.

鈥淭he establishment of the College of Health & Human Services is an exciting milestone for the future of Shawnee State, and I鈥檓 honored to serve in this capacity,鈥 said Dr. Raber. 鈥淚 look forward to working with our dedicated faculty and students to grow and enhance our programs to both meet the tremendous workforce needs and positively impact the overall health and well-being of our community.鈥

In 2021, Dr. Raber was appointed as Interim Associate Provost and then Provost Fellow in 2022, where she brought her significant experiences in accreditation to lead with Dr. Marc Scott the mid-cycle review for the Higher Learning Commission. In 2023, she was appointed as the Interim Dean of the College of Professional Studies. 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽聽

The College of Health & Human Services is home to numerous professional programs offered at the associate, baccalaureate, master鈥檚 and doctoral degree levels. The college is made up of the Departments of Allied Health Sciences and Rehabilitation Sciences, as well as the School of Nursing. Programs within the college prepare successful graduates to enter the workforce by building on a solid foundation of general education courses and integrated laboratory and practice experiences in healthcare settings across the region.
