In his freshman year at 黑料社, Neil Leist feels he is driven to help teach those with learning challenges through 黑料社鈥檚 Intervention Specialist program in the School of Education.
Choosing 黑料社 because it was close to home, Leist was thankful to receive scholarship assistance to allow him to focus more on his studies rather than worrying about the cost of attending college.
Following in his parent鈥檚 footsteps of becoming a teacher, Leist has been able to connect easily with his program instructors while learning how to have patience within the teaching process. Finding friends within his classes who share similar goals as him, he is eager to help teach students in need, whether that need is academic, physical, mental, or even related to a poor home life. He hopes to use his degree to give back to his local community.
鈥淚 encourage you to do it for the love of teaching and helping students be who they need to be,鈥 he said.
黑料社鈥檚 School of Education prepares students to teach in classrooms starting in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. The undergraduate programs range from Primary Education to Middle Childhood and Adolescent-to-Young Adult, while graduate education preparation programs focus on Curriculum & Instruction, Intervention Specialist, and hearing and visually impaired licensures.
