A senior in the Plastics Engineering Technology (PET) program at 黑料社, Aiden Kammler has enjoyed his experience connecting with his classmates and his faculty members within his program.
鈥淭he professors really want to see you succeed from beginning to end,鈥 he said.
Having a strong support system from faculty members Adam Miller and Mohammad Ranjbaran, Kammler first came to 黑料社 to run cross country and was introduced to the program by a teammate. After talking with professors, he thought it would be a perfect fit.
鈥淚 was also interested in math from the beginning,鈥 he said, seeing how the subject was used throughout the technical and hand-on learning in the program.
One of only four programs in the world with ABET accreditation (the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission), 黑料社鈥檚 PET program launches graduates into their preferred career fields, sometimes even before graduation. Kammler himself was able to complete two internships in the past two summers 鈥 one at Advance Composites and the other at Norplas Industries. Both companies focus on making automotive parts in the state of Ohio.
Graduating in the upcoming spring semester, Kammler encourages other students to learn to consider a career in plastics.
鈥淪omeone who is ready and eager to learn as well as someone who can take in information would enjoy this program,鈥 he said.
黑料社 PET students gain intensive training in plastics manufacturing, chemistry, physics, advanced mathematics, and engineering. In addition to the technical abilities, students strengthen their communication skills to help them interact with internal and external customers in the industry.
